The eighteen men split into a marketplace-based group and a church-based group and began meeting weekly, with Hal staying one week ahead in writing the group curriculum. The results were transformational. As they became closer followers of Jesus Christ and were equipped as leaders, everything around them began to change. Marriages were strengthened. Families grew healthier. Churches, workplaces and communities saw what it looks like when men step forward into Godly leadership.

After his second group, a friend told Hal, "This discipleship thing is more your deal than any of that other stuff." He was right — Hal preferred groups that were relational and went deeper in the Word. More men asked him to start additional groups, and soon he was out four mornings a week by 6 a.m.  And Hal wasn't a morning person...
